Do you want to wish your loved ones a Happy New Year at midnight on the dot? But you’re afraid that you can’t think of a suitable saying at the party or that you’ll forget an important contact in the hustle and bustle of what’s happening?
Then take some time before New Year’s Eve, prepare your greetings and then let WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal send them automatically at midnight.
Telegram offers a hidden time control
The easiest way to do this is with Telegram. The messenger offers a function for the time-controlled sending of messages, this is just well hidden. In a separate guide, we’ll show you how to send your New Year’s greetings with Telegram on a time-controlled basis.
Unfortunately, WhatsApp does not offer such a function. Here you have to use third-party tools. A popular tool for this is SKEdit. We will show you in a separate guide how you can use this to plan the sending of WhatsApp messages.
But beware! The automated sending of messages is actually forbidden on WhatsApp and can result in your account being blocked, so consider carefully whether you want to take the risk.
Alternatively, you can of course simply start a video call at midnight and personally wish your loved ones a Happy New Year. But here too there are a few things to consider.
Workaround for Signal: use drafts
Unfortunately, with Signal there is also no option to send messages with a time delay ex works – not even with third-party tools. However, there is a workaround. Because Signal saves prescribed messages as a draft in the chat, even if you close the app. So you can conveniently write your greetings and then call up the chats one after the other at midnight and fire off the messages.
