Game news 32-player open-world Pokémon with guns exists and it’s coming very soon!
The year 2024 is off to a flying start: in a few days, we will be able to play a Pokémon-like where it is possible to shoot with a bunch of weapons… And no, it’s not a joke!
Have you always had a passion for Pokémon but are you tired of putting everything through them? Then Palworld is probably for you. It’s an open world survival game where there are a whole bunch of creatures – Pals – to capture! Except that you can do what you want with these animals: fight, build structures, but also work in the fields and “run your factories” (to use the words of the Steam page). Brief, in this ultra uninhibited approach to monster hunting, labor law does not apply… Within this tyrannical empire, the goal is to expand its buildings, to survive in the face of various dangers (food, hostile environment, poachers). There is also a whole multi dimension, in 4-player co-op or even on servers with 32 people. It is – however – unclear whether this feature will be included in easy access.
Loaded early access
Palworld is released this January 19 in early access on PC, One and Xbox Series (via Game Pass). A start that already promises quite a bit of content… On Steam, Pocketpair – the developer of the title – notes that the major systems of the experience such as capturing creatures, combat, exploration, construction , the crafting of objects are already completed. Moreover, more than 100 monsters are there, with the added bonus of “350 items and 70 types of buildings”, all in a “vast open world”. “It’s enough content to keep you going throughout early access,” says Pocketpair.
The duration of early access, moreover, let’s talk about it… On the Palworld page, we can learn that this stage will last “for at least 1 year”. “We will make updates during early access (…) always adding more content and improving the game systems” – explains the studio. “As development progresses, we may consider extending early access or, if we are happy with the game, officially releasing it.” As a reminder, Palworld early access will be available from January 19 in Game Pass. A good tip to try it without spending too much.
