Mission Impossible Rogue Nation / Ghost Protocol / Fallout

A cult saga that needs no introduction, Mission Impossible has been worn for a while now by Tom Cruise who plays Ethan Hunt, who is more hotheaded than ever. Here, we can’t really say that the secret agent gets calmer with age and has provided even more incredible adventures than ever in recent years: Rogue Nation, Ghost Protocol and Fallout are the films released in 2011, 2015. and 2018 and together form a trio of stories to shamelessly devour. It’s spectacular, with very risky stunts and effective twists: real American blockbusters as we like them, especially with a good pizza in front of you on a rainy Sunday evening.

Bullet Train

8 series and films to watch on Amazon Prime Video in January 2024

An excellent surprise released in 2022, Bullet Train is an unbridled action film where we follow the misadventures of Coccinelle (Brad Pitt), an assassin who simply has to watch over a briefcase on a Japanese train. The problem is that, firstly, he has always been extremely unlucky and, secondly, nothing will happen as planned: a deadly manhunt then follows in a very nice atmosphere, flirting between the ultra-stylized fights and absurd humor. Moreover, the director is none other than David Leitch, who has already proven his know-how with the first John Wick, Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2.

  • Release on Prime Video: January 2, 2024
  • With : Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson

The Marsh King’s Daughter

Helena Petterier lives a good life with her husband and daughter and yet she has come a long way: she was raised and kept hostage for years and years by an infamous criminal. So, when the latter escapes from prison while committing several murders, Helena finds herself forced to confront her past to protect her family just in case: The Marsh King’s Daughter promises to be a powerful, gray trailer dealing with not the easiest themes (Stockholm syndrome, to name but one) while highlighting a nice cast with Daisy Ridley (Star Wars), Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond the Pines) and Garrett Hedlund (Tron). Another guarantee of quality: the presence of Neil Burger in the production, who has already enjoyed success with Limitless in 2011, for example.

  • With : Daisy Ridley, Ben Mendelsohn, Garrett Hedlund

Elysium

8 series and films to watch on Amazon Prime Video in January 2024

Before directing the adaptation of Gran Turismo this year, South African Neill Blomkamp was best known for his science fiction works: he signed the much-loved District 9, but also Chappie or, therefore, Elysium. The latter was released in 2013 and takes Matt Damon as standard bearer, alongside other stars like Jodie Foster or Alice Braga. In 2154, the world has never been so divided: on one side, the ultra-rich who live on the space station Elysium and, on the other, all those living in the giant poverty that the surface has gradually become of the planet. Max belongs to this last category and, tired of having to survive in a society tortured by poverty and crime, will decide to accept a perilous mission entrusted to him, which could well change everything. A rather visually impressive blockbuster that shouldn’t occupy your mind, especially if you like science fiction.

  • Release on Prime Video: January 15, 2024
  • With : Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley

The Godfather, The Godfather Part 2 & The Godfather Part 3

8 series and films to watch on Amazon Prime Video in January 2024

Nothing new on the horizon, but when we know the cultural impact that the Godfather trilogy had on cinema and popular culture in general, we were somewhat obliged to put these three films in this article: the 15 January, you will be able to (re)enjoy these three legendary feature films concocted by a certain Francis Ford Coppola and delight in this symbolic photography, these cult characters, these legendary music and quite simply these strong stories which have terribly influenced the industry. The Godfather is still a very big piece of the Seventh Art, the first or second part of which is often considered the best film in history by many critics. As for the third, this is still the subject of debate today and that is why we encourage you to work on everything, so that you can form your own opinion. And don’t forget the cannoli…

One Piece Movie: Red

Long as an arm (several arms, even), the One Piece saga has also been released in cinema, as with this feature film released in 2022 and directed by Goro Taniguchi. We reassure you: no live-action on the program since it is indeed an anime where we find Luffy and his crew, while they attend a much-desired music festival where the main star does not is other than Uta, the daughter of Shanks Le Roux. Obviously, everything is not going to go as planned and the opportunity will be ripe for a few fights and well-felt retorts: in short, if you love One Piece like about a few dozen other million people, then you should be delighted.

And because the documentary on Orelsan has already been a hit, why not repeat the same operation on the videographer? “Thank you Internet” will thus focus on the rather fascinating rise of the Internet user since 2013, all based on the numerous videos filmed “off” by his friend Théodore Bonnet while being supported by unpublished interviews with the greats of the French web. Expats (Prime Video Original series)

8 series and films to watch on Amazon Prime Video in January 2024

Paying Nicole Kidman as the figurehead of a television series is already enough to get people talking: Expats and its six episodes take place in Hong Kong, featuring several expatriate women, all linked by an intense friendship . Only here, on site, everything does not necessarily go well: the past of some mysteriously resurfaces, perdition is felt and certain challenges have to be painfully taken up: it will be noted that it is Lulu Wang who is directing, she who had already shone with L’Adieu – The Farewell in 2019. For now, Prime Video could well offer one of the most qualitative series at the start of 2024… unless it is this year entirely whole?

  • Release on Prime Video: January 26, 2024
