This ultra popular video game soon in cinemas

It took several decades to achieve this result, but adaptations of video games to cinema or series finally seem to be entitled to satisfactory results! Ridiculous for a long time, then simply disappointing, it has now been a few years since hope has been given with each new adaptation. We owe this turnaround to a few nuggets like the series Arcana on Netflix or the film Super Mario or the series The Last of Us And falloutboth released on Amazon Prime Video. Soon, a video game juggernaut should be entitled to its own feature film: the extremely famous Minecraft.

Designed for a released in 2025we don’t yet know much about this new adaptation other than that it will be a Animation Film, that the creator of the game (Notch) will participate in writing the scenario and that the casting has already been chosen. Among the actors and actresses who will lend their voices to bring Minecraft to life in the cinema, we find some extremely famous names like Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black), Emma Myers (Wednesday), Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus), Kate McKinnon (barbie), Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows) and of course the iconic Jack Black (Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny).

According to Jack Black, this adaptation should reach new heights

Well known to Internet users and fans of American and family comedies, Jack Black has come back in force in recent years. After a Kung Fu Panda 4 who was able to convince everyone thanks to all his qualities (including a cover of Baby One More Time by the actor himself), he intends to continue this momentum thanks to the adaptation of Minecraft to the cinema. Having been chosen for this film seems to fill him with pride, as he already proved in this interview with our colleagues at IGN.

Just a few days ago, Jack Black was also invited to participate in CinemaCon in Las Vegas. During the latter, the actor was able to return to Kung Fu Panda 4, but also of course to the future Minecraft film. According to him, this adaptation should be “a new kind of blockbuster”, and the humor should be “much better crafted (sic) than that”. Given the actor’s passion for video games, we can therefore expect a real gem in 2025. Furthermore, Jack Black also confirmed that the zombies and the Nether will be present in the feature film.
