Amateur filming, a bit of drugs and a hungry werewolf: this is the pitch for this completely new genre film.

Sniff the right vein

Since last year and for reasons that are still unclear, American genre cinema has decided to combine drugs and bloodthirsty monsters. An idea which more or less worked on the Hollywood side with the film Cocaine Bear, but which seems to have some success with small-budget independent productions. Thus, in 2023 we also found Cocaine Shark, a Nanardesque project in which sharks exposed to a drug synthesized by a baron began to develop mutations and attack the surrounding beaches. Unlike the first, this second project is to be taken to the thousandth degree and ultimately only has the sole ambition of riding a trend. But this trend seems to be making headway with a new film announced for this year.

The werewolves of the high

The team behind the very bad Cocaine Shark decided to do it again with the same concept by offering spectators Cocaine Werewolf, a film with an ambiguous title in which a werewolf gets his hands on a little drug. Because yes, you have to believe that a coked-up werewolf is much scarier than a werewolf in its normal state. A first decidedly kitsch poster was shared and it is probably the most successful thing about the project. This new feature film is once again directed by Mark Polonia and produced by Cleopatra Entertainment. The concise synopsis summarizes the events as follows: “Cocaine, money and a crew filming a low-budget horror film in the eerie woods of northern Pennsylvania collide when “an unexpected visit from a bloodthirsty werewolf literally enters the scene – with deadly consequences.” Not sure if the result will be as deadly as expected. That being said, this film should be available on VOD later this year.
