Surprise, the release date for the next season of Demon’s Slayer has been made official, and it’s a little later than expected.

We have it: the release date of the pillar training arc is finally made official, it will be May 12, a slightly later date than expected, given that almost all previous seasons were broadcast in April. For now, no really substantial trailer to get your teeth into, but we nevertheless know that the arc will focus on the elite demon slayers during the fight against Muzan Kibutsuji.

Note also that the second half of the film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Road to Pillar Training released on February 24 will be broadcast in the form of a one-hour episode when the series returns. Additionally, the arc will adapt chapters 128 to 136 of the manga, a relatively short piece of story, leaving some questions among fans about the content of the season, the content of which is still quite mysterious. Nothing prevents us from considering that the series partly addresses the final arc of the Infinite Dimensional Fortress.

As a reminder, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – On the Road to Pillar Training received a press score of 86% on the Rotten Tomatoes platform, based on 14 reviews. Espinof, in particular, writes that this Demon Slayer leaves us “the feeling of arriving at the end”and the demon hunters go “sweat profusely throughout this little narrative arc”. IGN writes that while the film is obviously not a good starting point for newcomers, fans will appreciate the quality of the animation.

However, it is never good to be more royalist than the King. I obviously did not shy away from my pleasure in front of this new “film that is not one” labeled Demon Slayer. Seeing again the fierce struggle that our hero leads against the fourth upper moon Hantengu was a pure treat. The staging and purely visual qualities of the anime are even more evident once projected on the big screen. Ufotable has nothing more to prove in this area, but still manages to surprise its audience with a total and absolute mastery of its art – Our review of the film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – On the road to the training of the pillars

Episode 1 seen in preview at JV

The first episode of the fourth season of Demon’s Slayer premiered in March. If you want to avoid the slightest spoiler, avoid reading this paragraph. In the pilot, Tanjiro returns to the Butterfly Domain, where he can finally get some rest after his fight against the Fourth Upper Moon Hantengu. We find the character of Zenitsu in very good shape, who benefits from the excellent performance of his voice actor Hiro Shimono (Julian Loki in Blue Lock, Connie Springer in Attack on Titan or even Dabi in My Hero Academia), capable of bringing lots of humor in this first episode. “Generally speaking, this first episode is strong while remaining discreet. It does not take advantage of the full power of ufotable for the limited presence of fights. This is essentially for its original content, mostly independent of the adaptation , that it is worth a look“, we wrote in our review of the episode which you can consult in this article.
