Although the American actor came away empty-handed from the Oscars (nominated in the “Best Supporting Actor” category), he had received praise from Steven Spielberg for another performance a few months earlier.

I saw Steven Spielberg walking towards me. I don’t know Steven Spielberg. I told myself he would never come and talk to me. And yet, he was getting closer and closer, and I told myself I knew what was going to happen. I’ll point at him and he’ll say, “Not you, behind you,” so I’m not going to do it. Finally, I said, “Me?” and he said, “Yes, you.” I said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t think you were coming to talk to me.” I got up and he hugged me and said, “I just saw ‘Fall Guy’ and I loved it.”

The man who was Brad Pitt’s understudy has since directed many stars including Keanu Reeves (John Wick), Charlize Theron (Atomic Blonde) and more recently the duo Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. This action comedy, expected in theaters in France on May 1, is the adaptation of the TV series of the same name broadcast in the mid-1980s on American television. We follow Colt Seavers, an action choreographer and stuntman, who to save a young director’s film goes in search of his missing star.
