Every industry of entertainment has its award ceremonies. From the Césars to the Game Awards to the Grammys, there is something for everyone. From music to cinema without forgetting video games and television, almost every cultural industry has its moment. And since 2022, the world of streaming too.

Streamers also have their ceremony

We could spend hours listing all award ceremonies that exist or have existed. There are dozens or even hundreds, organized by academies, brands, influential people or directly by those concerned. The Oscars are organized by an academy, the NRJ Music Awards by the famous radio station, while the GDC Awards are directly organized by and for developers. Let us obviously mention the Game Awards, the most influential ceremony video game, which was created in 2014 by Geoff Keighley, who produces and hosts the evening. They are all of varying importance, and some are born or disappear amid general indifference.

For streaming, and in particular Twitch, no ceremony had really succeeded in establishing itself until 2022, a year during which streamer QTCinderella created the Streamer Awards. The first edition took place on March 12, 2022 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles and was broadcast live on Twitch. QTCinderella hosted the awards ceremony alongside Maya Higa, with two integrated events. The first is a “red carpet” show during which the nominees are interviewed after which we move on to the awards ceremonies. Aseu, Asmonglod, Mang0 and Amouranth were rewarded in this very American ceremony at heart, which nevertheless tends to impose itself.

Stars nominated twice for the Streamer Awards

The nominees for the 2024 edition are starting to be revealed, and a surprise has slipped into two categories! Stars, which many know for Culture Night and his passion for Questions for a Champion, has indeed been nominated in two categories. That of best international streamer alongside Cellbit, Rivers_GG and Quackity, but also in that of best fighting game streamer (Street Fighter 6, Super Smash Bros Melee and Ultimate, Mortal Kombat, Tekken 7…) with Sajam, Maximilian_Dood and HungryBox. The streamer, who brought Samuel Etienne to Twitch, seems the first to be surprised to find yourself there:

Born August 2, 1997, Rayenne Guendil, also nicknamed Rayou and with the pseudonym Etoiles. Trained as an engineer, he began his activity on Twitch in 2016 and specializes in gaming with Minecraft, Super Smash Bros. or Trackmania, but he is also known for the implementation of programs dedicated to culture. In 2019, he launched Culture Night, streams during which he watched and played Questions for a Champion. This program led to him being contacted by the host Samuel Etienne, who then successfully attempted the Twitch adventure.

Keeping the idea of offering cultural streams, it will launch in 2022 Museum Night, an evening during which he goes to a museum or heritage site in the company of another streamer or videographer, and a speaker. Ponce, Squeezie, Kamero, and even Amine participated in the different numbers. Very recently, he was able access the Louvre in a private context, extremely rare thing, one of the most visited museums in the world. He was accompanied by Lena Situations and a speaker. Will Etoiles, who has more than a million subscribers on Twitch, be rewarded at the Streamer Awards? Reply February 18!
