It was in The Playlist’s Discourse podcast that Zoe Saldaña spoke about the future of Guardians of the Galaxy. According to her, it would be a shame not to bring this vigilante team back for new adventures.
For now, I think it’s goodbye forever for me, but I don’t think Gamora is gone forever. I think it would be a huge loss for Marvel if they didn’t find a way to bring back Guardians of the Galaxy. They’re a group of misfits that are very popular with fans, you know? And then, at the helm, they had added value like James Gunn’s writing, which is wonderful and very specific to this genre. He is excellent for this genre. So I would be the first person in the front row to celebrate the return of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Although she doesn’t seem inclined to reprise the character of Gamora, she is excited to see new Guardians of the Galaxy productions in the future. With James Gunn now working at DC Comics as co-president, he will no longer be in charge of Marvel. So it’s hard to imagine this saga returning in the near future at the moment.
