While the manga is due to end this year, Jujutsu Kaisen fans continue to develop theories about the outcome of Gege Akutami’s work. One of the most popular latest ones talks about the power of love and that really doesn’t sit well with part of the community.

While it is surely one of the strongest Jump series currently, Jujutsu Kaisen will still end this year. This is what its author, Gege Akutami, told us, half-heartedly predicting that he would not be at Jump Festa 2024 which brings together the big names of the magazine currently being published. Thus, the manga featuring the adventures of Yuji Itadori has been in its final arc for several months, even reaching its climax in recent weeks.
However, since the author is known for being unpredictable, it’s difficult to know what to expect for the outcome of this popular manga. So, to compensate, fans create their own theories that not everyone likes. Recently, one of them evokes the power of love, which does not fail to provoke a reaction from a large part of the community. The power of theory as the outcome of Jujutsu Kaisen?
Currently, Jujutsu Kaisen is in its home stretch and sees our heroes face Sukuna who took control of Megumi’s body. Despite his fight against Gojo which weakened him, the King of Plagues remains as formidable as ever, giving difficulties to Yuji, Yuta and Maki. Now, all that remains is for Atsuya to face this seemingly invincible threat. This is generally where chapter 253 of Jujutsu Kaisen leaves us. From this point on, many fans begin to work out what the outcome of this never-ending fight could be.
Recently, user ThatOneAnnoyingBuzz posted a theory on the Jujutsu Kaisen Reddit to explain that Sukuna will die by Yuji’s hand thanks to the executioner’s sword, a weapon that kills everything it touches and which comes from the extension of Hiromi Higuruma’s territory. For the Internet user, Sukuna will learn love through his fight against Yuji and to argue his points, he uses the lyrics of the song by SpecialZ which is the second opening of season 2 of the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. For him, this song is supposed to be written by Sukuna for Yuji and for ThatOneAnnoyingBuzz, Sukuna’s entire narrative arc is to learn what love is, he who has never known this feeling.
An implausible and superficial theory
In reality, This theory does not hold water for many reasons. First of all, following the supposed death of Higuruma, the executioner’s sword is no more and only served to confiscate divine lightning to Sukuna. Then, even if Sukuna himself returns to the fact that he does not know attachment to others in chapter 248, this point is not all that makes up the character’s aura. “We’re not in Harry Potter where Voldemort didn’t know love. But I think that all things considered, only Yuji can do something against Sukuna since he’s the protagonist“, replies a user on Reddit. And then, last argument, rely on the words of a credits taken from the anime to explain what will happen in the manga which is completely detached from it and anything but relevant. In short, this theory which dates from three months ago was quickly contradicted by the manga itself.
