Netflix is banking heavily on South Korean productions to retain its subscribers and attract millions of new ones. France.TV is intelligently positioning itself in the sector of South Korean audiovisual productions and appealing to K-drama fans with a film whose main antagonist is an actor revealed by the Squid Game series on Netflix. Midnight Silence is a 2021 South Korean psychological thriller film directed and written by Kwon Oh-seung. Although this is his first film, the filmmaker delivers a cinematic work that has been praised by critics (100% on RottenTomatoes), even if spectators are less enthusiastic (68% on RottenTomatoes).
To play the main roles, Kwon Oh-seung can count on a 100% South Korean cast with a proven track record. The heroine played by Jin Ki-joo (Little Forest) thus responds to Wi Ha-joon (Squid Game), Kim Hye-yoon (The Murderous Memory), Park Hoon (The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure) and Gil Hae-yeon (The Murderous Memory).
