No Longer Rangers is originally a manga by Negi Haruba, the author of the romcom The Quintessential Quintuplets who here swaps impossible loves for a satirical series dedicated to the Super Sentai, these Japanese superheroes popularized by Tokusatsu series like Kamen Rider, Ultraman or Power Rangers.

With No Longer Rangers, Negi Haruba deviates from the classic Super Sentai narrative and offers us a darker story, in which the heroes are not what they say they are. In our time, the Dragon Keepers team protects humanity against the incessant invasions of the evil army. But in reality, the evil overlord was defeated over a decade ago and our heroes are using the remaining enemies to make the audience believe that they are still defending Earth. Tired of this deception, a trooper then decides to bring down the super-team by infiltrating their organization.
With its original approach to the genre, No Longer Rangers has what it takes to shine during its upcoming release. The anime was entrusted to the Yostar studio and Keiichi Sâto, who notably directed another successful superhero anime: Tiger & Bunny.
