While the last one was clearly oriented as an end to the saga, Bad Boys returns for a fourth and final opus this summer. Mike and Marcus are back in action in a crazy, laugh-out-loud film filled with action and explosions.
In 1995, Michael Bay, a director little loved by moviegoers, decided to start making action films that explode everything, as usual. That’s when Bad Boys 1 saw the light of day with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith in the lead. A sequel was released in 2003 but it did not have the expected reception. After more than 17 years of silence, the saga returned in 2020, this time without Michael Bay, in Bad Boys for Life for what seemed to be the last film in the franchise. But now the ionic duo returns for a very last mission in Bad Boys Ride or Die, which will be released this summer.

Bad Boys Ride or Die
Fourth film in the saga, Bad Boys Ride or Die follows the events of the third opus. The legendary duo has just finished their clash against La Bruja and Mike’s son is languishing in prison. However, their (small) time of peace ends when terrible information appears on television: former officer Conrad Howard, who died in the third film, was a member of a renowned drug cartel. To restore the truth and clear the honor of their former leader, Mike, Marcus and all the members of their special unit take up arms. Between betrayal and explosion, the film promises many twists and turns. If the second film in the franchise had not appealed to the greatest number of people, Bad Boys For Life had corrected the situation, recording 424 million dollars at the box office, thus multiplying its budget by 5. Even better results are therefore expected for this latest opus.
A ghost
The Bad Boys series presents good action and entertainment films. But it wouldn’t be a lie to say that the reputation of the various feature films comes largely from its lead actor, Will Smith. A true icon of the 2000s, he is one of the major actors of his generation. But now, as everyone knows, in 2022 an event took place which completely took it off the radar: the slap given to Chris Rock during the Oscars ceremony. He has since apologized and even decided to leave the Academy. He has been in the public eye for the past two years and has appeared in only one film, Emancipation, which won him an NAACP Image Award. But here he is finally again in a feature film intended for the general public, Bad Boys Ride or Die. However, we will have to wait until June 7, 2024 before seeing it in our beloved cinemas.
