X and Pearl was unanimously praised by critics, who gave it surprising but deserved scores of 94% and 93% on RottenTomatoes. Supported by a budget of one million US dollars each, X and its prequel grossed 15.1 million and 10.1 million respectively at the box office.
No release date has been communicated for MaXXXine in France. In the United States, it is scheduled for July 5, 2024.
