After Kingsman, Matthew Vaughn returns to espionage with Argylle, a project clearly in the same vein as the filmmaker’s previous feature films, mixing both humor and action. This meta film should tell the story of Elly Conway, a novelist famous for her spy novels, who finds herself embroiled in a secret union affair. The latter then meets a spy, whom she begins to confuse with Argylle, the hero of her novels.
We can expect real entertainment with a marked style, as the first images of the film suggest. Matthew Vaughn absolutely wanted to make an impression with the character of Argylle, whose features he deliberately exaggerated. A choice to which Henry Cavill completely adhered, as he explained to from Entertainment Weekly.
