Hang in there! The second part of Zack Snyder’s blockbuster, Rebel Moon, is coming soon to Netflix and the trailer has decided to drop the whole thing to impress us. Enough to forget a first part which was not unanimous?
Beyond the dune, there is the moon
Whether in the cinema or in living rooms, science fiction always has an impact with the general public and the success of Dune 2 proves it. This is how people love this cinematic genre and the universes, mixing technological progress and stellar travel, which result from it. Inspired by Star Wars and other major sci-fi works, Rebel Moon is the latest creation from the director of 300, Watchmen and Man of Steel. With a budget of $166 million, the blockbuster was divided into two parts, the first of which was released last December.
We follow a young lady, Kora, who comes to the aid of a small community of farmers living on the moon Veldt. Facing the cruelty of Admiral Atticus Noble, she will enlist a team of fighters and try to save the widow and the orphan. Without being a great science fiction film, Rebel Moon is considered a good action film, supported by brilliant visuals. Unfortunately, opinions differ on the writing and the scenario and with such a budget, we can imagine that Zack Snyder is waiting with unfeigned impatience for the arrival of the second part. Kora is back!
While the first part of Rebel Moon was titled The Fire Child, this last section is called The Slasher. With such a name, we understand that Kora is going to get down to business and that this second part will focus on the action. The universe and the main characters having been presented previously, Zack Snyder was able to focus on the heroine and her thirst for revenge.
The idea for the director and Netflix is of course to reach, or even exceed, the audience success of the first part. For the occasion, actress Sofia Boutella now appears with short hair and the Mother World, the true antagonist of the film franchise, should see some green and unripe ones. For the rest, you have to trust the trailer – which once again displays superb visuals – and hope that this second part will be superior to the first. See you on April 19!
