News for the FOV slider on Warzone console

Call of Duty: Warzone players have been asking for an FOV slider for consoles ever since the battle royale was released and the devs addressed the subject recently.

While Warzone players have been asking for a setting to customize their field of view (FOV) for almost two years, the developers have finally confirmed that the FOV slider will not be coming to older consoles (Xbox One & PlayStation 4 ), nor on current consoles (Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5).

A field of view slider allows the player to increase the amount of information your screen can display, allowing them to have a better view in front of them. While PC players can increase their FOV up to 120, console players are stuck at 80 from the start of the game.

Console players have been asking for an FOV slider on Warzone since launch.

Unfortunately, in a conference with content creators and the press, Raven Software stated that the consoles will not have an FOV slider because of the performance of the consoles.

Amos Hodge, associate creative director at Raven Software, said they were “aware” of the requests for the FOV slider and were considering implementing it in the future. But Josh Bridge, another member of the development studio confirmed on February 10, 2022 that this would not happen in the end.

FOV is far too important a parameter in Call of Duty: Warzone to be overlooked.

Josh Bridge spoke on the subject: “It is complicated. […] We are not confident of maintaining a stable frame rate on older consoles with an FOV slider.”

Raven Software revealed that players on older consoles are still in the majority, so they don’t want to widen the level gap with those with newer consoles, whether PS5 or Xbox Series.

So it’s a shame, but you also have to understand this reasonable decision by the developers who want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves to the same degree.
