Foden travels back to England

Attacking star Phil Foden has temporarily left the English training camp for the European Championships in Blankenhain. The FA announced this on Wednesday. The 24-year-old had travelled back to Great Britain because of “an urgent family matter”, it said in a short statement. No details were given. It also remains unclear when Foden will return to Germany. The “Three Lions” will play their round of 16 match against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday.

Hungary’s Varga released from hospital

The seriously injured national player Barnabas Varga is back in his Hungarian homeland. Varga’s club Ferencvaros Budapest published a photo of the attacker. Varga suffered several bone fractures in his face and a concussion in a collision during Hungary’s last European Championship group match against Scotland (1:0). He was released from the hospital in Stuttgart on Wednesday.
