Like the base game, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree leaves a lot of freedom with its open world. Although its map is smaller, it is not easy to decipher. Indeed, the map of the Realm of Shadows is completely disjointed with regions that you should not visit before having explored some of them. In what order do the different areas of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree?
As we were able to tell you in the introduction to this article, the regions of the Realm of Shadows in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree are completely disjointed with many trips back and forth to avoid running into bosses that are too powerful.
Although the map is much smaller than that of Entre-Terre, it offers a large concentration of major bosses and they can be encountered very easily if you get a little lost in the exploration.

- Charo’s Secret Tomb

- Black Castle – Attic of the castle and Religious Quarter
- Occult panorama, back door of the castle
- Base of the Occult Tree
- Unte Ruins
- The Abyss
- The ancient ruins of Rauh
- South side
- The Jagged Peak (final dragon)
For the regions of Enir-Ilim and Jagged Peak, you are free to try to eliminate the final dragon before the final boss; however, they are both extremely difficult. So, try your luck on one, then the other, until you drop one of them!
By following the suggested order, you optimize your progress in the game. You start with the areas that correspond to your current level, allowing you to gain experience and rewarding rewards. Then you gradually move on to more difficult areas, thereby increasing your chances of success and obtaining greater rewards. This methodical approach prevents you from becoming discouraged by facing challenges that are too difficult too soon, or from stagnating in areas that no longer offer you a challenge.
