Nick Cannon’s youngest son died of a brain tumor when he was only five months old. The comedian speaks about it openly on his talk show.

“I haven’t shared this with anyone before,” says actor and comedian Nick Cannon, 41, on his own talk show in an emotional voice. “I’ve had a tough weekend.” Then he shows the viewer: inside a photo of his youngest son Zen. Applause fills the hall. But suddenly it becomes very quiet.

Nick Cannon: His son had a brain tumor

When Nick Cannon tries to speak again, tears come to him. The comedian talks about his little son for a long time, telling anecdotes from the time immediately after his birth. Then he reveals: “After a while we found out that he was missing something. There was a tumor in his head.”

After Thanksgiving, the tumor grew faster and faster. “I spent as much time with Zen as possible this weekend,” Nick explains to the audience. They drove to the beach, where Nick held his son for the last time. He died at the age of five months.

“I am so grateful”

“I’m so grateful that my whole family came together to support me. Zen’s mother, Alyssa, is the strongest woman I’ve ever seen,” said Nick on his talk show. Zen was the sixth child of Nick Cannon.

“I know a lot of people have had similar experiences,” explains Cannon. That’s why he treats the topic very openly in his show and talks to an expert at the end.
