The US rapper Nicki Minaj has had an impressive career, which will soon be the subject of a six-part documentary series.
Nicki Minaj (39) announced with a trailer on Twitter that a six-part documentary series about her life and career will soon be released. “The #NickiDocumentary you didn’t know you needed. Love you so much,” the rapper writes about the round two-minute clip on Twitter.
“If you only focus on business, you can lose yourself”
Minaj reflects on pictures from her career about her beginnings as a woman in the rap business: “Female rappers weren’t really in the charts back then. I fight for the women who thought they could never win.” Elsewhere, she admits to having “medicated” herself at times. “If you’re only focused on business, you can lose yourself,” says Minaj. It was time to grow up and “love myself”. Images of Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, can also be seen in the preview.
on The rapper also announces the documentary on Instagram and writes, among other things, that some things in it are so personal that it is “scary”. It is not yet known when and where the documentary called “Nicki” will be shown. Although it is “sooner than you think”, she still has to decide on “a home for this project”.
