Nicole Eggert had breast implants inserted at the age of 18 for her role on “Baywatch”. A “stupid decision,” as the actress, who suffered from breast cancer, says today.

Nicole Eggert, 52, regrets having breast surgery for her role in the hit series “Baywatch.” “It was a stupid decision at 18,” the actress told US magazine People. But when Eggert joined “Baywatch” as Summer Quinn in the third season in 1992, she felt uncomfortable with her body. “When you have to put on that onesie and it’s so flat that it wrinkles, you’re like, ‘What is that?’.” You couldn’t stuff the iconic red swimsuit.

Although “Baywatch” had already been running for two years before Eggert joined, the actress said she didn’t know what she was getting into. So she thought she had signed on for a series about high school kids in Malibu. But then she realized that she would have to walk around in a swimsuit all day. “It just wasn’t what I signed up for. It was a completely different show and not where I wanted to be,” she told People.

“Leave your bodies alone”

Because they supposedly compare themselves directly with their colleagues Pamela Anderson, 56, felt unwell, Nicole Eggert had cosmetic surgery. Further breast enlargements followed later. In 2015 she had her breasts reduced again in the TV show “Botched”. Nicole Eggert now has a message for young women: “God, let your bodies rest,” she calls out to them via “People”.

Documentary about “Baywatch”: Nicole Eggert unpacks

Nicole Eggert left “Baywatch” after just two seasons, allegedly after a dispute with the producer and star of the series David Hasselhoff, 71. But she is not done with the successful series yet. In the documentary she produced, “Baywatch: The American Dream,” she will talk to other former stars about the 90s phenomenon and its dark sides.

It was only at the beginning of January that Nicole Eggert made it public that she had breast cancer. She received the diagnosis in December 2023. The Californian has two daughters aged 25 and twelve. She looks after the younger child alone. Giving up is not an option for her: “This is something I have to get through. This is something I have to conquer,” she recently told People.
