Nighttime operation – full fire in a garage: two houses saved

Nighttime operations for the St. Florian am Inn fire department. When emergency services arrived, a garage was already fully engulfed in flames. However, through quick intervention, the Floriani were able to save two residential buildings and an ÖBB railway embankment from the flames.

On the night of Sunday to Monday, the St. Florian am Inn fire department was alerted to a fire alarm in Gopperding at 11:40 p.m. As soon as we arrived, it was clear that the building was fully engulfed in flames. After arriving at the scene, the operations manager determined during the course of the situation investigation that there were no people or animals in the burning building. The power line was also in danger. This meant that the fire department’s emergency services were able to concentrate on protecting the two residential buildings that were in the immediate vicinity of the burning garage , and concentrate on putting out the fire yourself. There was also a risk of spread on the railway embankment and the power line on the adjacent ÖBB railway line Linz – Passau. After the fire was under control, the last embers were located and extinguished using a thermal imaging camera. “Fire out” could then be given.
