Although the first development kits have already been distributed, and several sources agree that the Nintendo Switch 2 was presented in secret to developers, some rumors are unlikely to be taken literally.
Nintendo Switch 2: when Nintendo denies rumors about performance
As part of a press conference, which took place during the publication of Nintendo’s financial results, Shuntaro Furukawa, who is none other than the president of the Japanese firm, said this about the next console in development : ” Rumors circulate on the internet as if they were public information, but they are inaccurate “.
In this case, Furukawa would more accurately be referring to the numerous speculations linked to the performance of the machine, and not to the various rumors evoking the potential release of two models for September 2024.
Big N’s Latest Patent Filed May Not Be a Clue
As a reminder, a few days ago we discovered a patent presenting a console capable of splitting in two, like a Nintendo DS/3DS. If the Web was then ignited, already starting to fantasize about the idea of seeing the emergence of a Switch equipped with several screens, the president wanted to calm the enthusiasm on this subject… Here is what he declared:
“ I filed this (patent) application knowing that this information would be made public. This does not mean that this patent will be incorporated into a product “.
As you will have understood, the patents filed by Nintendo are therefore nothing more than concepts, which could, therefore, never see the light of day. Obviously, and given the success of the Nintendo Switch, Big N would have no interest in hastening the death of its hybrid machine.
