A full member of the 2030 Alliance alongside Renault and Mitsubishi, Nissan intends to do well with a new version of its Micra, this time 100% electric
.

Its start of production and market entry dates are not yet known.

The new Micra as the flagship of the Alliance 2030

The Nissan Micra is one of the most sold models in Nissan history, with five versions produced since 1982 and a sixth to come. Primarily known as a city car, the new Micra could, depending on its appearance, draw more inspiration from the most recent K14 version and be more versatile than its predecessors.

Also proof of the reinforced cooperation between the three firms of the 2030 Alliance and of Nissan’s European ambition, the new Micra will be produced at the Renault ElectriCity center, located in Douai (Hauts-de-France), but certainly not before at least two years.

Even more, this Micra must be based on the same platform as the future electric Renault 5, the CMF-EV, and carry a solid battery. The latter would be, like the platforms, produced jointly by Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi. Their aim is to reduce the purchase price of electric vehicles offered by the 2030 Alliance compared to current market prices.
