A Tyrolean (40) was lucky in misfortune on Saturday evening in Neustift in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley! The man was about to move his car when it suddenly started smoking. A short time later the vehicle was already in full fire. A technical defect is suspected to be the cause.
The fire started shortly before 8 p.m. The owner – a 40-year-old local – wanted to move his car, which he had not been in use for a month, in the forecourt of his house. “As soon as he started he noticed that smoke was rising from the engine compartment,” the police said. In order not to endanger his house, the Tyrolean drove the smoking vehicle several hundred meters to a meadow, where he finally parked the car was lucky that could have gone well wrong. Because only shortly afterwards the car was already in full fire. The Neustift volunteer fire brigade was ultimately able to extinguish the fire quickly. 15 men with three vehicles had arrived. The 40-year-old was taken to the hospital in Hall for safety. The reason for the fire on the 14-year-old vehicle was probably a technical defect.
