No injuries – fire in the Kunsthaus Zurich – News

  • Around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, the protection and rescue service in Zurich received an alarm about a fire in the Kunsthaus Zurich.
  • The fire brigade responded with a large-scale operation.

The fire broke out in a packing room right next to the delivery, says Björn Quellenberg, Head of Communications and Marketing at the Kunsthaus Zürich.

However, the fire was quickly extinguished and the ongoing smoke development in the house is still being fought. According to Quellenberg, no one was injured or injured. The extent of the damage will be examined on Wednesday morning.

“According to the current status, no art is affected,” says Quellenberg. Also, no art objects would have had to be evacuated.

Since the cleaning work in the older part of the building was probably going on on Wednesday, the decision was made to open only part of the Kunsthaus to visitors.
