An attentive neighbor noticed clouds of smoke near the neighboring house on Sunday around 12.50 p.m. in Krastal, in the community of Weißenstein. The roof structure burned there, which is why a total of 120 emergency services from five fire departments arrived. “The arriving fire brigades were able to quickly contain the fire and extinguish it shortly afterwards,” says the police. Fortunately, no one was in the house at the time. Due to the extensive extinguishing work, Krastalstrasse (L 38) was closed to all traffic for the duration of the operation. The road was only reopened at 2:48 p.m. The extent of the damage to the house and what caused the fire is now being determined. Car fire in front of a residential building A short time later – this time in Klagenfurt – a 29-year-old man from Germany parked his car in front of a residential building. After about 10 minutes – around 2 p.m. – he noticed smoke coming from his car and called the fire department. “The fire in the engine compartment of the car was extinguished. The cause of the fire is currently unknown,” the police said. There were no injuries in this incident either!
