Until now, Expeditions were a game mode in their own right, but we wanted to integrate them into the main game. We’ve reimagined the “Path of the Atlas” by allowing players to commune with the Atlas and honor it with a new staff, new jetpack, and new helmet.

We’ve added a wide variety of procedurally generated quests to planets. Communicating with extraterrestrial lifeforms results in quests specific to the location, climate, and personality of the lifeform in question.

For the first time ever, take on the universe with a fleet of frigates led by a capital ship, the dreadnought. If players manage to defeat pirate frigates in combat, travelers can board the dreadnought to take control of it.
