They also contain what might be the most popular thing among players: a ship editor that allows players to customize their ship and create ship types never seen before.
We didn’t introduce ship customization earlier because there are so many players whose greatest joy is exploring in order to find the perfect ship to buy. As they continue to explore, and to customize their ship, travelers collect and trade ship parts, salvaging the best components from wrecks and ruins.
We are also introducing a new guild system. Joining guilds and increasing your esteem with them will now become a more important part of the game. Meet new guild emissaries on space stations to obtain rare materials and items or make donations to increase your reputation.
In No Man’s Sky you can own a freighter and even create a real fleet of frigates. Now you can send this fleet on missions. And if this mission finds itself in danger, you can, as frigate captain, rush to its rescue. Players can launch their squadron of fighters, teleport to battle zones and engage in combat with attackers.
The Orbital update adds ship customization and a new guild system, transforms space stations from the outside and inside, improves the engine and interface refresh and much more. This is a huge update including additions that players have been waiting for for a long time. But the road does not end there and the year is still long and full of surprises.
