No release in 2023 for Suikoden I & II HD Remaster

Always expected on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Steam, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars of its full nickname, compiles the memorable RPGs of the PlayStation era released in 1995 and 1998. Inspired by the Chinese adventure novel At the water’s edge, these games recount the exploits of the 108 stars of destiny, rebellious marginalized people who will organize themselves against the corruption of a tyrannical government. Although classic in their operation, alternating villages, dungeons and world map, these Suikoden are distinguished by the number of characters involved, the pleasure of seeing each new recruit find their place in a constantly evolving HQ, music by great quality or fights carried out on different scales (from duels to confrontations between armies).

Localized in French, these remasters will offer HD illustrations, new effects giving more life to pixel art, reworked sound effects, a fast forward function for fights, an automatic save or a conversation log. According to communicated of Konami, the development team needs more time ” to ensure the quality performance and gaming experience that our users deserve “. If the team still aspires to finish the job as fast as possible “, the compilation is therefore postponed beyond 2023, without further details for the moment.

Remember that Suikoden had five main episodes between 1995 and 2006 and as many spin-offs, even if only two of them were released in the West (Suikoden Tactics on PS2 and Suikoden Tierkreis on Nintendo DS). Released in 2012 in Japan on PSP, Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki has been enjoying an English fantrad since 2021 and remains the newest chapter to date.
