Braun announces restrictions for unvaccinated people
According to the head of the Chancellery, Braun, Germany is threatened with an incidence of 850 by the time the federal elections are held. With such a high incidence of infections, certain leisure activities may no longer be possible even for those who have not been vaccinated. “Those who have been vaccinated will have more freedom than those who have not been vaccinated,” said the doctor.
In view of rising corona numbers, CDU Chancellery Minister Helge Braun has announced possible restrictions for non-vaccinated people, according to a newspaper report. “Vaccinated people will definitely have more freedom than those who have not been vaccinated,” Braun said of “Bild am Sonntag”. As long as the vaccines against the Delta variant help so well, a classic lockdown is no longer necessary, Braun said. But if Germany got a high fourth wave, it would not be without effects. In the event of a high infection rate despite test concepts, unvaccinated people would have to reduce their contacts. “This can also mean that certain offers such as restaurant, cinema and stadium visits would no longer be possible even for those who have not been vaccinated because the residual risk is too high.”
When asked whether this would be legally permissible, Braun replied with a “yes”. The state has a duty to protect the health of its citizens, Braun told the newspaper. “This includes a health system that does not have to postpone cancer and joint operations again in winter to treat corona patients.” The politician and doctor added: “And that includes protecting those who are not vaccinated.”

According to “Bams”, the Chancellery Minister fears an increase in the incidence to 850 and thus 100,000 new infections per day by the Bundestag election on September 26th. Federal Health Minister Spahn had also warned of an 800 incidence in autumn this week. “The sickness rates would reach historical highs. All unvaccinated contact persons of the many infected people would first have to be in quarantine.” The effects on the work processes in the companies would be massive, as can already be observed in Great Britain.
If the incidence increases as expected, it will also be very difficult to keep the infections out of schools. “That’s why it’s very clear to me: Parents, teachers, caretakers and school bus drivers have to get vaccinated. If these groups are all vaccinated, the risk for the children is lower.” In addition, the mask requirement must consistently apply in public buses and trains and in school lessons, where distance and ventilation are not sufficient.
