Nokia: expands Voice Core services in New Zealand

(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia today announced that Vodafone New Zealand will extend Nokia’s Voice Core services to one million additional subscribers in the country.

This rollout will allow more New Zealanders to enjoy voice services at home and abroad, and tourists to enjoy high-quality voice services while in the country.

Nokia will also provide its NetAct application for network management and day-to-day operation.

This program will improve the resiliency and redundancy of Vodafone New Zealand’s Voice Core network and ensure that the network is always using the latest software. It will also introduce VoLTE roaming, which is crucial as several operators shut down legacy 2G and 3G networks to save money and use spectrum for 5G.

Rob Joyce, Chief Technology Officer, Nokia Australia and New Zealand, said: ‘Our Voice Core technology enables service providers to deliver superior voice services to their customers. ‘
