(CercleFinance.com) – Swisscom and Nokia announce the successful completion of Swisscom’s nationwide Next Evolution Wavelength Optical Transport Network (NEWTON) in Switzerland, and the official launch of the service’s migration to modernized network.
This new optical network will carry all of Swisscom’s fixed and wireless traffic, ‘supporting customer services from 1G to 400G, efficiently aggregating and managing end-to-end traffic while maximizing fiber usage’.
The solution will help address massive traffic growth by eliminating repetitive tasks, accelerating service delivery and reducing overall costs of ownership, all with a significant reduction in energy consumption.
