Nokia: retained by the Georgian Cellfie to launch 5G


(CercleFinance.com) – Nokia announced on Tuesday that it has been selected by Georgian telephone operator Cellfie Mobile for a contract aimed at preparing the country for the adoption of 5G technology.

The agreement, which covers the entire area of ​​Georgia, aims to offer Cellfie subscribers ultra-fast connectivity services, based on complete coverage of the territory.

In a press release, the Finnish network equipment manufacturer explains that the adoption of ‘AirScale’ equipment will allow Cellfie to launch its 5G services as soon as the frequency allocation is finalized, scheduled for August.

Nokia will be the sole vendor of RAN systems under the project, which is expected to start rolling out from November.
