It is the unmissable afternoon appointment for many viewers. The social and testimonial show It starts today, presented by Faustine Bollaert and broadcast on France 2 welcomed Monday September 13, 2023, the chef Norbert Tarayre. This time, there was no question of talking about cooking since the theme of the day was fatherhood. The former candidate of Top chef therefore spoke about his role as a dad, but also about the type of spouse he thought he would be. He notably mentioned the end of his relationship with his ex-wife, Amandine, with whom he had three daughters: Gayane, Laly and Aliya (born respectively in 2007, 2009 and 2013). The fun cook also spoke about his new partner with whom he had a little Elydjah, born in 2020, very shortly after the end of his former relationship. During the host’s questions, the latter confided what this new birth had caused in him. Thus, and in front of a surprised audience, Norbert Tarayre admitted that he was relatively jealous, even of his newborn: “It’s a boy, I was jealous, I said ‘another guy who’s going to love my girl damn it and my girl is going to love another guy other than me’…I say it honestly, even today I’m jealous.”
Norbert Tarayre: “I am ultra-possessive”
The cook developed: “And the final blow was my wife who said to me: ‘I would like to breastfeed’. In my head… I don’t show, I’m not jealous, but I’m ultra-possessive.“ This revelation had a curious effect on Faustine Bollaert as well as the other guests, given her ambiguous inclination. “I’m very scared, are you going to say this sentence or not?” the presenter said to her interlocutor, just to be sure. “Actually, I said damn, he’s still going to touch…”, he tried to explain to her. “No no no no, not that, it’s ugly”she cuts him off immediately. “Lactation, oh no, that’s mine”, retorted Norbert Tarayre faced with the incomprehension of the set. Furthermore, the jealous father and partner subsequently revealed that despite everything, his partner still breastfed their son for a month.
