Daryl Dixon gets off the bike for once! The “The Walking Dead” star is turning back to his second cult role and is preparing for “The Bloody Path of God 3”.

You could almost think that Norman Reedus has only played Darly Dixon since 2010. The “The Walking Dead” actor remained loyal to the zombie series until the end and then got his own spin-off. In between, he also filmed the show “Ride with Norman Reedus”, in which he hardly differed from his alter ego Daryl .
However, one should not forget that Norman Reedus was already working as an actor before “The Walking Dead” and took on another cult role that is now set to return after a long break.

The action thriller “The Bloody Path of God” was released in 1999. The inexpensively produced film, which was released directly on VHS in Germany and landed on the index shortly afterwards, was the film debut of screenwriter and director Troy Duffy. Despite mediocre reviews, the story about two Irish brothers in Boston who commit vigilante justice became a cult hit. A sequel followed in 2009.
Director Duffy worked for a long time on a third film, which is now actually coming – but without Duffy. While the production studio Thunder Road, which is also responsible for the “John Wick” films, wants to implement “The Bloody Path of God”, Duffy will publish his own version of a sequel in the form of novels. Norman Reedus and his film brother Sean Patrick Flanery are set to return as Murphy and Connor MacManus. According to Deadline, Reedus says:
I’m thrilled to be working with Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road Films and Todd Myers’ Dragonfly Films to continue the story of the Boondock Saints. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working towards for a long time. This time we continue without our long-time friend and captain Troy Duffy. He’s decided to write a Boondock Saints book series and I can’t wait to read it.

It is not yet known whether “The Bloody Path of God 3” will make it to German cinemas. Of course, Norman Reedus is now an internationally known name with which to advertise, but the “Boondock Saints” films are only known to a relatively small audience. The planned sequel may also appear directly on a streaming service anyway.
