A 78-year-old woman was found stabbed to death on Sunday at her home in Lompret, near Lille, after a call from her 82-year-old husband, who claimed to have killed her.
The man, who called the police at 1 p.m., was hospitalized under duress, his state of health being “incompatible with a measure of police custody”, said the Lille prosecutor’s office, confirming information from the Voix du Nord.
“The emergency services quickly dispatched to the scene failed to resuscitate the 78-year-old victim, who had received several stab wounds,” added the prosecution.
