Not just for the iPhone 14: Apple is finally making improvements with an update

Apple is currently working on the next major update for the iPhone. But even before publication, there’s quick help with a smaller update. Addressed to buyers of an iPhone 14, but not only. All other iPhone users can also enjoy bug fixes.

The almost 270 MB update to iOS 16.0.2 does not contain any new features, but it does contain a lot of improvements to known errors. First and foremost, it fixes a known camera issue on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. They struggled with vibrations and blurry recordings in third-party apps such as TikTok, Snapchat and Co. But the troubleshooting didn’t end there.

Apple releases iOS 16.0.2: Not just for the iPhone 14

Apple is also taking care of the device configuration, during which a completely blackened display came up here and there. The frequent queries when copying and pasting content between apps were also quite annoying up until now – done. It is possible that VoiceOver was not always directly available after a restart. This problem was also fixed by Apple. iPhone X, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 users in particular will be pleased that the device no longer goes on strike after the display has been replaced and allows inputs again.

As usual, the update is available via the settings (Settings -> General -> Software update) and can be installed directly. Unlike the previous update to iOS 16.0.1, iOS 16.0.2 is now available to everyone again iOS 16 compatible iPhones available. Version 16.0.1, on the other hand, was only intended as a quick fix for the new iPhone 14 models.

Meanwhile, Apple is working on iOS 16.1. The larger service update not only brings the usual improvements and security updates, but above all a lot of new features. These include functions that Apple already showed in the summer, but which were delayed and are now being delivered. A release is expected in October.
