You regret that your Nothing Phone (1) has still not received its sesame to NothingOS 2.0? Well, good news, you shouldn’t have to wait much longer. On X (ex-Twitter) Nothing has indeed announcement that he planned to launch the deployment of this update on his Phone (1) starting next week.

As a reminder, NothingOS 2.0 is offered by default on the new Nothing Phone (2), launched last month. More than a simple update based on Android 13, this new version of NothingOS puts a lot of things flat to offer a whole new interface. As we explained a few weeks ago NothingOS 1.0 was made by a team external to Nothing. This is not the case with NothingOS 2.0, which was developed from scratch by a team hired internally for the occasion. At the heart of this team are many former OxygenOS developers at OnePlus.

A new update for a new life

Among the new features offered with Nothing OS 2.0 and its brand new interface, a new set of widgets for the lock screen as well as for the home screen, but also an overhaul of the quick settings, or the possibility run multiple instances of the same application, note GSMArena.

We also benefit from new options for creating larger folders on the home screen, as well as new monochrome icons for native applications, developed by Nothing. A native app lock feature is finally in the news.

Note however that Nothing has not yet given a precise date for the deployment of Nothing OS 2.0 on the Nothing Phone (1). However, we should know more very soon.
