Now it is also affecting gorillas, Knuspr, Amazon and Co.: There are shortages of these foods

Discounters and supermarkets are currently experiencing rationing and food shortages. Because some customers are back to buying hamsters, at the same time the war in Ukraine is causing delivery problems for many products. But food delivery services such as Amazon, Gorillas and Knuspr are also affected by hoarding. As reported by “Lebensmittel Zeitung”, the suppliers have already begun to set restrictions on purchases for some products.

The providers are lacking in flour in particular. While Knuspr and Picnic are still rationing this, Gorillas or Flink can no longer deliver. Oil is also becoming scarce with some suppliers, while sugar can still be supplied by many without any problems. Toilet paper, which was particularly popular at the beginning of the Corona crisis, is also rationed by many.

Gorillas reports to the “Lebensmittel Zeitung” that everything possible is being done in the background to cushion the bottlenecks as much as possible. Especially with providers who only provide a small range of goods, product failures can also occur more quickly.

The Turkish provider Getir, on the other hand, emphasizes that there are no bottlenecks. Instead, panic buying can result in products being unavailable while shelves need to be restocked.

In general, consumers should remain calm at the moment and not get involved in hamster purchases. This is the only way to ensure that all products remain available to all customers at all times. So only ever buy as much as you really need.
