Around three unpublished episodes of “Hondelatte tells”, the journalist of Europe 1 Christophe Hondelatte retraces the journey of Nordahl Lelandais, whose trial for the murder of little Maëlys begins this Monday, and who has already been sentenced for the murder by Corporal Arthur Noyer in 2018. The journalist explains how he built his story, and gives keys to understanding this case.

INTERVIEW

Eminently topical episodes. On the occasion of the opening of the trial this Monday of Nordahl Lelandais, four years after the death of little Maëlys, Christophe Hondelatte returns to the journey of the murderer in three episodes in the show Hondelatte tells. Among these episodes, two are devoted to Nordahl Lelandais’ lawyer, Alain Jakubowicz, who explains how and under what circumstances he met his client in 2017. The first episode of the series traces the murderer’s journey before the assassination of Maelys.

“We talk about Lelandais without betraying the rule of Tonton Hondelatte”

But before going into details, Christophe Hondelatte wants to clarify at the microphone of Europe 1: “Let things be very clear. I’m not going to tell the Maëlys affair. I’m not telling the cases that have no judicial truth. When Nordahl Lelandais has been convicted, I will tell this case. On the other hand, I can tell the other Lelandais case, which is the murder of Corporal Arthur Noyer. We are talking about Lelandais without betraying the rule of Tonton Hondelatte”. To do this, the journalist from Europe 1 was inspired by a book by the journalist from Figaro, Aude Bariéty, in which she recounts the entire course of the trial.

Everything to understand the Arthur Noyer case

This book is a gold mine for Christophe Hondelatte, who has drawn a lot of information from it. “What we understand a little is why this man killed a little girl and a big boy at the same time. It’s disturbing”, he says at the microphone of Europe 1, before continuing : “There are paedocriminals, but they only kill children. There is a big difference, and we have the answer”. The journalist assures that Nordahl Lelandais “had a sexuality that was not very assumed. It’s probably because he may have wanted to rape this man that it didn’t go well, and that he killed. He’s very twisted, and some time later he kills a little girl. Funny character.”

Christophe Hondelatte’s unpublished story on the Noyer affair is already available on streaming platforms and on the Europe 1 website. The three episodes will be broadcast on the air this week, from Monday to Wednesday in the show Hondelatte tells.
