Nuclear: further delay for the production of electricity from the Finnish EPR

By SudOuest.fr with AFP

The Finnish electrician TVO announced Thursday to postpone by one month the production of electricity from the EPR nuclear reactor of Olkiluoto-3, built by the Areva-Siemens consortium, twelve years after the date of commissioning initially planned

Electricity production is due to start at the end of February, instead of January as previously announced. A normal commissioning will take place in July 2022 whereas TVO was previously expecting June. “The start of electricity production is postponed because the need to make modifications was observed during the test production phase” launched at the end of December, warned the energy company in a press release.
