Din the pages of Point of October 27, 2022 devoted to civil nuclear power, your “Investigation into a French debacle” places the beginning of a drift in 1997, on the grounds that my government had then decided to shut down Superphénix, the fast breeder reactor installed in Creys-Malville.

I will not discuss here the validity of the term “debacle” and will not pass judgment on the policies followed by my successors.

Sticking to the years during which I governed (from 1997 to 2002), and without mentioning for lack of space our entire energy policy, I wish to enlighten your readers by providing clear answers to the assertions of your weekly.
