The RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB is a real treasure hunt. After some great announcements in early January, Nvidia seems to have kept another cartridge. Explanations.
This beginning of the year 2022 will have been the opportunity to discover on the side of Nvidia some beautiful novelties in terms of graphics cards. A GeForce RTX 3050, a GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB and a GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. To complete the picture, the mid-range is obviously missing, namely the RTX 3070. According to the first rumors dating back to 2021, a 3070 Ti 16 GB model was to be released on January 11, 2022. it really wasn’t.
The Nvidia card is very shy
But very recently, the partner manufacturers Gigabyte and Asus have registered several models with the EEC, the Eurasian Economic Community. If this is not always a sign of a proper exit, seeing two major players doing the same thing is enough to arouse suspicion.
The only technical novelty compared to the classic RTX 3070 Ti would be the presence of the famous 16 GB of GDDR6X, double what is currently offered. It would still carry 6144 CUDA cores, but its additional amount of VRAM would visibly risk increasing energy consumption.
The increased VRAM would provide improved performance for games and titles that use high resolution textures. For the time being, there is obviously no question of revealing any price or release date, but we can surely expect to see the beauty point the tip of its nose and its circuits during the first quarter of 2022. .
