The Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series of graphics cards are expected later this summer. A fairly close release, which will logically be accompanied by its share of leaked information. This is particularly the case with the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti, whose cooling system is revealed.
Initially expected in the fall, the GeForce RTX 40 should, it seems, be unveiled during the summer. We reported it a few days ago, their release would have been brought forward to July, according to some rumors. For our part, we are betting on a presentation in August, a month more conducive to this kind of event, and on availability during the month of September.
This launch window is interesting, and the most assiduous of our readers will have noticed that this is the release period for Intel Arc desktop graphics cards. Nvidia would thus interfere in the potential excitement around these cards and, in a way, pull the rug out from under the feet of its future direct competitor. Smart.
Still, with an announcement due in just a few months, it’s obvious that the leaks around the GeForce RTX 40s will intensify. A phenomenon that is obviously not new in the field of tech, whether for graphics cards but also for smartphones, connected watches and so on.
Today’s leak concerns the supposed cooling system of the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti. This was the subject of photos published on the Chinese forum of ChipHell (a subject since deleted), a forum which had already hosted in its time the first authentic photos of the cooling system of the GeForce RTX 30. And precisely, that of the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti does not seem to mark a break with that of the current generation, in particular that of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. We thus find this large radiator (three PCI slots) with black fins with, in its center, a gray border in the shape of a cross. Only the contact surface with the GPU and the memory evolves: it is a uniform metal plate, while it is split into several parts on the RTX 3090 Ti.
Finally, these photos, if they are authentic of course, also tell us that Nvidia would renew its dolphin ventilation system. Introduced on the high-end versions of GeForce RTX 30, this consists of placing two fans on either side of the graphics card. A first fan pushes the air on the radiator in a completely classic way, while the one placed on the back of the graphics card will suck the air through the radiator so as to expel it upwards. An original system that has proven to be rather efficient and not very noisy.
The next few weeks will undoubtedly give rise to new leaks, concerning both the design of the GeForce RTX 40 and their technical specifications. On the price side, it should not be forgotten that this tends to be fixed at the last moment by the manufacturer, sometimes only a few days before the launch of the products.
