Square Enix’s RPG shows off two of its eight protagonists in a new video: Partitio the Merchant and Osvald the Scholar, along with a new game mechanic called Latent Powers.
Partitio can buy items from villagers, enlist them to accompany him on his adventure, or simply negotiate with various characters encountered during the adventure. As for Osvald, he can spy on the villagers, rob them or simply beat them up to rob them of their property, which is simply explained by the fact that he is released from prison.
It is also possible to travel by canoe on the rivers, by boat on the sea, and the player can even proceed to the purchase of his own ship.
Octopath Traveler 2 is still scheduled for February 24 on consoles (Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5) and February 25 on Steam.
