Insane 300 million package for Erling Haaland
An annual salary of 52.5 million euros, a consultant’s fee of 40 million euros: These are the numbers that the team around BVB striker Erling Haaland presented to Chelsea. The transfer fee for the Norwegian could also increase. FC Bayern and Dortmund cannot bid there.
In the spring of this year, BVB star striker Erling Haaland and his entourage around father Alf-Inge Haaland and star advisor Mino Raiola once again made the headlines in the German and European media landscape. His two closest confidants started a dubious tour to many top clubs across the continent that are supposed to be interested in the Borussia Dortmund super clipper. Now new details about this European tour by Haaland and Raiola as well as precise contractual requirements came to light.
As the “Sport Bild” reports, the notorious player agent Mino Raiola is said to have approached one of the potential buyers for Haaland, the reigning Champions League winners Chelsea FC, with an astronomical salary claim. Under the German coach Thomas Tuchel, the German national players Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Antonio Rüdiger and the ex-BVB professional Christian Pulisic will play there. Most recently, the Londoners also signed Belgian center forward Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan – whether this is why interest in Haaland is ebbing is not known.
According to the media report, the 53-year-old agent announced an incredible 50 million euros as a salary for the 21-year-old. Plus the additional payment of 2.5 percent of the agent’s salary, which is customary in England, makes a total salary for the Haaland package of 52.5 million euros per annum, i.e. more than one million euros in salary per month. As the report of the sports magazine goes on to say, consultant Raiola is said to have demanded a fee of 40 million euros as a basis for entering into concrete contract negotiations with the Blues about a Haaland transfer.
The “Sport Bild” calculated that in the case of a new five-year contract for the Norwegian superstar it would be a total package of around 300 million euros – pure salary and fee payments, of course. Further transfer payments for the top scorer are not even included. It is clear that both BVB and FC Bayern Munich no longer play a role in this insane salary league and Haaland should therefore no longer play in the Bundesliga from 2022 if the above claims come true.

The star player is known to be contractually bound to the black and yellow until 2024, but should have an exit clause in his working paper after the current season that allows him to leave the club for 75 million euros. According to “Sport Bild”, this fixed transfer fee can increase to 90 million euros through additional bonus payments, so that the loss of its outstanding striker in the coming summer would be extremely sweetened for BVB, at least financially.
