Official Competition, directed by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, introduces us to a billionaire businessman who decides to make a film to leave his mark on history.
He then hired the best: the famous filmmaker Lola Cuevas, the Hollywood star Félix Rivero and the radical theater actor Iván Torres. But if their talent is great… their ego is even greater!
With this wacky comedy behind the scenes of a film shoot, Antonio Banderas reunites with Penélope Cruz after The Passenger Lovers (2013) and Pain and Glory (2019).
While there are many films that show behind the scenes of the production of films (how they are made, the problems of production, the difficulties and challenges of making a project happen), none really tell everything that the actors to make people cry, laugh and generate emotion.

Official competition is structured around rehearsals prior to shooting a film. Each of them works almost independently with its own conclusion, and is a masterclass in how the three actors at the center of the film construct emotion.
