OJ Simpson has now passed his suspended sentence. In Nevada he was fired a free man for good conduct.
Former football star OJ Simpson, 74, has served his sentence and is a free man again. Because of good conduct, he was released from his suspended sentence on Tuesday. Numerous US media report this unanimously. Simpson lived under the supervision of the authorities in Las Vegas, Nevada, after several years in prison.
Simpson was sentenced to up to 33 years in prison in 2008 after an armed robbery. Together with two accomplices, he robbed a fan article store in Las Vegas that sold rare collectibles. Simpson later claimed the store’s owners had previously stolen his career devotional items from him. Still, a court convicted him and found Simpson guilty on all charges. An appeal and a proposed retrial were also dismissed.

The murder trial of OJ Simpson, after his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her new boyfriend were found murdered, previously caused a worldwide sensation. In 1995, in a spectacular criminal trial, Simpson was ultimately acquitted for lack of evidence. Two years later, however, a civil court found him guilty and sentenced him to more than $ 30 million in damages. However, he never had to go to jail for the crime.
A steep career as an actor
OJ Simpson was considered one of the greatest football stars of his time during his playing career with the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers. The running back played a total of six times in the all-star game and was even voted the best player in the league in 1973. After his resignation, he was increasingly active as an actor. He was best known thanks to his role as Detective Nordberg in the slapstick film series “The Naked Cannon” alongside Leslie Nielsen (1926-2010).
